Silk Thread
Thanks Marty for this link.... I do have one question being new to all this... What type of silk thread should I use.
I assume I want to get a Several colors. Can you provide me a link or let me know what type of thread I should be searching for.
Thanks... I hope to tie a few of these up....
I have found the best thread for tying steelhead flies is Danville 6/0. I use black the most with burgundy a close second. I also use red, orange and chartreuse. I use the 6/0 for almost everything including spinning deer hair. Silk is used for tags and bodies. Japanese single strand is what I prefer but most anything will work. Good luck with your quest, but be careful tying steelhead flies can become quite addicting.
3 out of the top 4 flies on the page do not have correct spacing between wraps of tinsel/hackle...pro staff eh?
Awesome Stuff Marty. It's nice to have those all together like that.
That Strip Ween Gaddy is $$$
rrswens: I have been playing with the Lagurtun thread lately. It's kind of fun and worth looking in too.
For those of you that want some silk, I've been using this stuff:

Great quality silk, and almost half-price.
