We are going to head to Vernon Res. this weekend and camp there with the woman and kids. Is this a good place to do that? We were just going to huck some worms and hang out a little bit. Any feedback on this idea???

Vernon is decent. Its the first place my son got out in a float tube. Not any overly huge fish, but still fun. A fly and bubble works well from the bank at sundown. My kid out fishes me doing that. Standard stillwater flies work well. I like vernon as it is close to home. I haven't been there this year but assume it is high. Always is in the spring. Have fun and send along a report when you get back.

Here is my report. We camped with 10,001 people there!!! good hell there were so many people. It rained like a mother f on Saturday for 2 hours. We were stuck up on this hill so we camped it another night. fishing was slow. Lots o fish rising in the morning at 5 am but after that not much action.
The guy next to us was a complete ass he left his f-ing generator running for the entire night saturday. Freaking douche bag!!! Sunday of course all of the people were gone but the damage was done....No sleep, muddy as a babies diaper after a diarrhea stint, and started to get really windy. Time to go home. I wouldn't doubt if I find a tick on me this week.

Yeah people weren't catching shit up there.....Except for this one guy. He was hucking out a black spinner. He looked very dark...I wouldn't be surprised if he was Satan fishing though. Other than that nada full moon too.

Havnt been out there for many years...
I do remember fishing was best in morning and evening. There use to be some nice browns in there.

I also remember the tics and crowds. :(
