I am going to be at Whiting Farms on Friday Dec. 10. If any one would like something in particular picked up while I am there, let me know. I go through the bins and pick out what I think are the nicest feathers they have. So......if you want something nice, I'll get it for you.

If you guys want some nice hackle, I'd take Dennis up on this! He does a great job picking top quality stuff out.

I'll second Mike's post. Dennis can get you some good hackle. I asked him to buy me a couple saddles on one of his trips. I aslo asked him to get me the smallest saddles he could find without going into the "midge catagory" because of the price jump (and because I am cheap and I also wanted some in the larger sizes). Well, Dennis pulled through. Granted they weren't true midge saddles, but there are plenty of very small hackles in their.

Speaking of midge saddles, if you ever want to seriously tie small hackled patterns (#18 to #28), get some of the midge saddles. I have a couple of them and they are absolutely incredible. They're a little more spendy, but you'll be able to tie thousands of flies. Beats the heck out of having regular necks with bald spots where all the small hackles used to be.
Dennis, if you can find a good 1/2 midge "Silver" saddle in Brown let me know. If you need to call me, depending on what you find, here's my cell: 801-358-0445. Also, depending on what they have and the price, I might be interested in an Olive dyed Grizzly saddle for stillwater stuff.
Thanks.

Dennis, my wife wants to get me a nice Grizzly midge saddle for Christmas. Why don't you just make it a quarter Grizzly and a quarter Dun. Thanks. My wife will be contacting you.

Dennis I'd like a 1/4 midge "silver" saddle of grizzly and dun as well. Let me know how to make the payment. joer777@yahoo.com

but, if you can find one of those "brahma" patches that I got from you earlier this year - only one with size 14 or even 16 hackles, I'd love that. I think brahma was what you called it - that really, really soft stuff for tying soft hackles. It's as soft or softer than h. partridge. Mottled/verigated feathers.
Something in an olive/grey, tan/grey, brown/grey or something like that.

Dennis,
A year ago I bought a grizzly midge saddle from you, and it has been great! I would like to get a 1/2 saddle in Olive died Grizzly. I would love something small, preferably in the midge category. Please let me know what they have.
Thanks,
FJ

I've got all these requests noted. I've been 2 days fixing my computer, new hard drives so am a little slow getting back up and running. I don't have to wait for my computer to do anything now. 2-250 gig SATA hard drives, 1024 meg RAM, lightening fast processor. It should be current for a few weeks.
I leave in a couple of days so if anyone else wants something I'll bring it back if they have it. Hope I can find some more hidden "specials". I hope to be back late Fri nite.

I've returned from the trip to Whiting. I got everything requested and more. Have a couple of "nice" Grizzly saddles dyed Burnt Orange, some saddles in Grizzly in larger sizes for wooly buggers. Also a Grizzly I found that should have been graded as a midge, (so is a great value) Those who ordered can pick up tomorrow before 12:00 or after 3:00. Or can arrange to pick up one day next week after 3:00, Mon., Tues, Thurs, or Friday. Anything left is fair game, first come-first served. By the way Rod Hog was guiding me home so he could be there when I got home and get first pick............But he couldn't afford it all.

Dennis,
What would be a good time to swing by this Monday or Tuesday? I get off work at 5:00, so anytime after that would be cool with me.

I'm assuming that you got my standing order of size 16-20 Cree hackle that I've been waiting for. You know, the one like rod hog has!
That damn ROD Hog!

Newtyer,
Tuesday after you get off work would be fine. I'll be around then.
Dave II,
Sorry the cree was too small for you. I couldn't pass up the "Midge Cree" I've never, ever seen one that small in my whole life. Had to have it. BUT....you are on the top of my list for 16-20.
