I just returned from fishing the clearwater river in N. Idaho for steelheads. We caught a few and had a great time. While I was there a guy was fishing with a hot orange fly tied with pheasant tail that had been completely bleached and then dyed hot orange. He was doing great with it. Anyone know where I can obtain feathers like that? Or is there such a thing as pure white pheasant tail feathers that are dyed with hot colors?

Sounds like one of Jim Teeny's creations. He has dyed pheasant tails. His link is: http://www.jimteeny.com

How is the run shaping up? Are there a lot of fish in the river this year? I haven't taken the time to read the reports from up there.

Thanks, That's the one......The folks at Orofino say that the run is above average. Some good catch days and some not so good for us. The weather was a little cool, but that's steelhead fishing.
