First time rod builder and I accidentally spilled some rod builder's epoxy from FlexCoat onto my graphite blank. I tried wiping it off with paper towels but there is still some residue that remains a little tacky. Any suggestions on how to get it off? Will a solvent ruin the integrity of the blank? Am I SOL? Thanks.

Acetone should get it off ok. They sell it in the paint dept at hardware stores & at superwalmart
Try white vinager first if it has not set, Acetone is always a last resort. Very caustic stuff, bad for your body and might be hard on the blank. I use a lot of epoxie on the bamboo rods I build and vinager works well on epoxies.

I would go for vinegar or ethanol BEFORE the acetone. you can try some 95% or rubbing alchohol.
but leave the single malt in the bottle.
(there i go again, trying to make a joke: Nightfish will pound me again)

I don't know if the vinegar and ethanol will take it off it it's already dried. If it has dried you may need to take your razor knife and shave it off. Once most of it is shaved, sand it lightly with 800+ sand paper to even up the finish. Then rub a little denatured alcohol to clean it up.
especially if its a matte blank. Just finish the rod, and remember to be more careful next time.
