Krystal Flash "Classic"- NOT

I've promised to tie several dozen "killer" foam beetles for a friend. His "irreplaceable" pattern is just black foam over peacock, with (what I mistakenly thought were) Hareline Krystal Flash legs.
Long story short, the legs AREN'T Krystal Flash but some sort of off brand. Best description might be slightly thinner and slightly stiffer than Krystal Flash. Color is a dark copper that glint green in the bends.
Have you encountered anything that fits the bill? Any thoughts on where to buy it?

I think what you are describing is still crystal flash, I have some that is called crystal, and another called monoflash, it is real thin more like hair and looks like it is crimped or something. I have bought it at Fish tech and Sportsmans, they both carry a variety of colors. I hope that helps you out.

We have a Sportsman's Warehouse here in Missoula that carries the stuff. They call it Monoflash. Not the Hareline big "K" Krystal Flash, but similar. The Copper colored Monoflash isn't what's in my friend's fly. Sure do like the looks of the Monoflash Peacock, though. If I can't find the original stuff the Peacock just might have to do.
