Last summer I found a South Slope stream with Grayling in it. I have fished several Uinta streams, this is the first one I have caught Grayling in. Can anyone tell me if the DWR stocks Grayling in streams ? I wonder if they were wild fish ? These were nice fish all 11- 13". I've caught Grayling in the Big Hole, but they were only about 6". I love fishing Uinta streams even though the fish are small and its like walking on bowling balls all day.

If you stop by the DWR offices on N. Temple they have a small store with maps etc. that list Uinta lakes and streams and which species were planted and maintained.

I also caught a couple of grayling on a South Slope stream last summer. I was a little suprised but in a good way. I checked my copy of the maps of the Uintas that Ouzel talked about in his post. There are grayling in quite a few streams according to the map. I suspect that they could have gotten into the streams from some of the stocked lakes in the high country but don't know for sure. I haven't heard of the DWR stocking grayling in the streams but they could have. Maybe someone else on this forum knows?

While fishing in extreme low water conditions just below the N Provo River inlet on the upper Provo in the Park I caught a nice 12 inch Grayling. Beautiful fish. I have heard that many of the lakes in the Uintas are stocked with Grayling and I am sure that some end up in the streams. First and only Grayling I have ever caught or seen up close.

Fishing Round, Sand, and Fish lake in the uintas there is lots of grayling. Those lakes are in the high uintas by Smith and Moorehouse. Lots of grayling. 50+ days up there with many, many double hookups.
