I just got home from the Pere Marquette, up in Michigan. I went up for my first Steelhead trip, and got quite an education. It will be sufficient to say that the steelhead won this round, but I loved it all. My brother and I went 3 for 12 or 14 (or so). I hooked up with a nice brown and landed the prettiest rainbow I have ever caught -- huge red stripe and RED gill plates and a huge jaw. It was a true beauty. Maybe I can post it on the pics page. It wasn't the largest rainbow, but it was a true beauty. Anyway, if you ever want to see another beautiful river, the Pere Marquette is BEAUTIFUL.

Yep, it is wonderful place -- the Pere Marquette, anyway. Missouri treats me okay, but most of the state is a little backwards. Something you just have to deal with. However, there is some great trout and smallmouth fishing in the Ozarks. Good stuff.
