Anybody hit the ranch opener? How'd it go? How were things elsewhere on the river, and in the area in general?
In 3 days I'll be leaving for a week up there, and I'm dying to hear some recent tales.

The Ranch was angry that day my friend! Like an old man trying to return soup at a deli.

Henry's Fork, dude that is old school. I haven't even heard Henry's Fork mentioned in serious fishing circles. It is basically shot. It is sort of like the eight track tape version of a trout river. It's heyday was in the 70's. By the 80's it was fading fast and by the 90's it was essentially gone. I guess if you are a nostalga buff it could be a destination. Sort of like Cooperstown or someplace like that. I wouldn't expect much from Henry's Fork or Henry's Lake for that matter for say another 10 years or so.
"Serious fishing circles" huh?
These must be those "obscure" circles that only Minivan knows about. Like the "obscure" pattern Minivan was going to tie up for the swap. It's so "obscure" it doesn't even exist.
LMAO.
Nice one.
The Henry's Fork is a great river. This time of year, I would look for hatches around Ashton and below. True that the Ranch/Last Chance may be overrated, but there are some great fishing opportunities in the area. If the Henry's doesn't treat you well, go below Quake and fish the Madison around there.
Lots of stillwater fishing too. I'm sure you can get all the latest info in West Yellowstone or Island Park.
You're a lucky guppy. Have fun.

OK Fred, I'll bite: What? When? Where? Give me the goods, spill the beans, etc. If you know somewhere good, let a brother know. Send me an e-mail if you don't feel like telling the world; your secret's safe with me. I'll be happy to send a few spots your way if you work on the barter system.
Grizz: I lost my decoder ring, so can you have someone translate your reply into English for me? Maybe I'm missing something sublime, but I can't figure out what you're saying.

Had two guys from work go there yesterday- said there were spinners everywhere- no one but 1 guy in a drift boat caught a fish. Just one of those days. The other buddy of thiers thought the Greys would be a better bet. He said it was up and you could have a good time Kayaking.
