I would love to find someone with any beginner type flyfishing books, pamphlets or videos on fly fishing. Maybe something you do not need any more. Yahoo had some great stuff, but they denied my credit card because it might be stolen! Can you believe that?! Might be stolen. Anyway, I would pay you real american cash. Books on casting, entomology, water reading, hell even knots would help me out a ton. Heavily used but readable are fine. The library sucks in this regard.
This is a long shot, but I would really like a 5/6 Orvis Battenkill Large Arbor Reel that someone no longer needs. I currently have the worst Daiwa ever made and 3 different spools for it that I will just have to crap can.
Let me know, you can get me at thoredson@cs.com.
THANKS

There's more at the library than you may think. Don't just check your branch...check their website. You can reserve titles, and when they're availible, they'll send them to your branch.

Other than that, get to the next flytying club, find some friends here, and borrow responsibly.

"crap can?" Someone on here is going to give you shit for that.
Anyway I have some beginner books are you offering to pay full price? Half price? or $?
A Partial list:Fly Casting with Lefty Kreh, Fly Fishing for Rainbows by Rex Gerlach, Reading streams by Orvis.
You could possibly borrow them too.

What kind of Daiwa reels? I am too cheap to buy expensive reels so before you "crap can" them let me know, I can always use parts!

I agree with Nightfish. There's a lot of good stuff at the library. Put them on hold to have them sent from another library. Get the book "Presentation" by Gary Borger - truely a great, all around fly-fishing book with lots of great info. There are lots of other great ones too. There are, in all truth, some pretty crappy ones too.

Sorry about the "crap" thing, I just don't want to fetchin' offend someone, after all the Provo River is situated so close to Provo and all. I will check onh the Daiwa, it is sort of cool having 3 spools for it, but the drag does not work. Someone told me the reel doesn't matter, you fight the fish with the rod and letting line slip, but then I got spooled past my backing by a Brown that I was not prepared for and snap. My drag just doesn't seem to work. Amazon was charging me about 40% for used books, I had selected many of those titles. I would be happy to pay that! I will try to reserve some online from the library, what is there web site?

This is the site for Salt Lake County.

You'll need your card to enter the barcode number.
There are approximately 100 titles if you type in fly fishing under subject search.
Some authors I like are Dave Hughes, Lefty Kreh, Gary LaFontaine, Gary Borger, Sylvester Nemes (for soft hackles), Charles Meek and John Geirach (just fishing stories). There are also a number of good fly tying videos by AK Best, Shane Stalcup and others. Not a completely comprehensive list of fly fishing literature but many good titles available.
