With Spinner Fall out of business at the moment, can anyone tell me a local source of Dai-Riki hooks? I'm pretty sure that Fishtech and Western Rivers don't carry them -- or at least I can't recall seeing them. I don't think that Angler's or SW does either. Does High Country? I'm sure that I can find a source online, I'd just rather support a local shop if there is one. Thanks!

Mike,

High Country does stock Dai-Riki hooks. Looks like you may have an excuse to come down on Wednesday!

Low Country might be a little slow on posting due to fishermans elbow! I took him to a little getaway spot I have in Idaho and the Rainbows there put the hurt on him!

It was nice meeting and talking to you the other night.

Tight Lines, Bruce.

Bruce! Excellent... That may be just the excuse I need to roll my jeep up that way Wednesday night. Thanks!

I don't have extensive experience Dai-Riki hooks, I am just fond of their 3x long "natural bend" in smaller sizes for midge patterns. The natural bend is somewhat similar to the Tiemco 200R's. It makes for a more natural looking fly in some instances I think. I haven't had any problems with Dai-Riki hooks. Not being marketed by Orvis though, I don't think they can be returned even if used and defective! Cost wise, they were like $7.00 per 50 when I bought mine, which makes them a tad bit cheaper than Tiemco hooks I guess. Of course I don't really care about saving 50 cents on 50 hooks. All in all I've been very satisfied the Dai-Riki hooks I've used thus far. Enough so that I'm looking to get some more obviously!

Curtis,
Knowing your tatse for bovine, if you make it to Logan you have to go to A&W (across from Fred Meyer) and get the Big Blue special. This will fill your gut for the ride back to Salt Lake. Plus you can hit Kohn's shop to make it flyfishing related. Or come up for an afternoon and we'll do some fishing.

Thanks Fred! I already ran up to High Country and stocked up two weeks back. They've got a really nice shop up there too FWIW!
