I have a DS2 that I use primarily. I like the rod, but would really like to have a nicer reel seet for it. Is this possible? Is it worth it? Is there a chance of messing it up my rod beyond use?

I have never made my own rod, I intend too one day and didn't know how hard it was to remove things once already on.

Thanks.

It's quite a messy process. I don't see what you would want a nicer seat. I think the DS2 seats are pretty cool. If you are hell bent on a new seat, you might shoot an email to Cary, or Chris. I have tried swapping, but it usually gets pretty ugly.

You might not want to try it on a rod you use. But it is possible. Boil the seat in water and try and pull it off every 20 or 30 seconds. Make sure you have a seat of the same size to replace it with. Usually a salvage tactic, not a remodel.
