I have noticed that the Mustad hooks I use (only on small flys) tend to straighten often on fish. Does anyone recommend using a different brand - are other brands stronger? Is it worth the price to get Tiemco hooks?

Thanks Jeff. I guess I need to look a little first.

I was browsing through the Cabelas fly fishing catalog and noticed some Eagle Claw tying hooks. Anyone have any experience with them - they are inexpensive.

I don't have experience Tying with them but I saw them at the ISE yesterday, they didn't look too bad, and they were Cheap $$ wise.

I had a couple of boxes of Eagle Claw hooks that I used a couple of years ago. I fish a lot of brushy small streams and loose a lot of flies doing so. They seemed to work just fine, never had any straighten out, caught a lot of fish with them, no failures. Though I still use Mustad mostly, I can't say anything bad about Eagle Claw, especially for the price when you fish places where you go through a lot of flies.
