Anybody have any good patterns that use the Stalcup Damsel Fly Tails. I have a couple of a packs of these, but don't know what to do with them. I have seen some patterns on line, but no recipes.

Any thoughts?

Is there anything he hasn't tried?

Does that fly actually catch fish? LMAO.

And, where do you get red monofilament?

This is a pattern that Cheech has tied and used, and I'm sure it catches fish. It's just too buggy to not catch fish. I believe the red eyes are created by using a red permanent marker over burnt mono eyes. You can make your own x-bodies using a vinyl rib, ostrich herl, and some foreceps to smash down the v-rib.

These are the ones I have, in olive.

I'll bring them to the Green.

To the Green? I don't think there's many damsels in the Green, unless you know something that I don't. :-)

I'm not going if there aren't any damn damsels.

Actually, I was just going to bring the material so that you can tie some flies for me. I'm sure you could figure out how to use these and tie some nice bugs for my stillwater fly box. Make sure to bring all the materials you will need.

Fred- that fly doesn't work...;) At Mantua during the damsel hatch it is awesome. I use Mike's Damsel more now though. Jason hit it on the head with the mono eyes. it's just burned and colored. I also make my own tails.
