I just purchased a book on tying small flies by Ed Engle. Seems to have some pretty good info, especially since I know so little :) alot of the patterns are probably ones that you have seen. It even has a chapter on substituting shoeshoe for cdc. Here's a link to the book's description on Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0811700828/qid=1075328079//ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i2_xgl14/104-5955357-5573535?v=glance&s=books&n=507846.
Sorry if I posted this in the wrong category. I wasn't sure if this would go in Fly Tying or the Repository of Knowledge.

Yeah, I thought that might catch your eye. He's got a Midge Cluster, Emerger, and a "bunny dun".

I was checking that out the other day on FAOL. That is the coolest swap I have ever seen. Speedo would definately OD if he saw that. He's easily effected.

in tying and fishing small flies you might take a look at Ed Koch's "Fishing the Midge", which your local library has or can get for you.
Through it is not a tying book it does have a section of prefered midges and their recipies.
