I've been winding up some Klinks for the year. The internet sites with info on this fly seems to mostly come from across the big water East of us. Alot those people are tying 12-16 sizes in lighter colors. I know what I'm winding up (18 and 20 Adams, BWO and Black) just wondering what some of you do with this fly in color and size.
I read the inventor of this flies stuff about it on the internet. He has some interesting things to say about fishing tactics and tying methods.

Try a pheasant tail abdomen with a PMD thorax and cree or Adams hackle.
Whatever you do, don't tie up any Float-N-Fools......................especially on a 248 scud hook you buy from Dennis....................

This pattern is one of my personal favorites. My box always has a few from sizes 22 to 16. tie the back end of the hook like you would a nymph. I like to use a little zelon for the tail and quick decent dubing for the body and then the closer to the eye I like to dub a little olive or yellow. The way the hook bend and sinks down in the water it's a great pattern to mimick a BWO or a PMD stuck in in it's nymphal shuck trying to emerg.
