I was at Smith & Ed's yesterday and they had a few boxes of SA wet cell/floating line for cheap. I think most of it was in the 7wt range? It is the lower end line but if you're looking to pick up some decent line for cheap stop in and get some.

Sportsmans Warehouse has SA lines on pretty cheap too.
Another thing I didn't realize is that Walmart has Cortland and SA fly lines. They are about $20 there.
The only bad thing is that they are typically only one color (Green for floating, black for sinking).
Also they have leaders on for only about $1.30-1.50.

FF is right, I've had some Cortland 333 on my reel for a while.
It's nod bad but it gets dirty easier it seems and the line memory is a little more than I'd like, but when it's either the 333 or no ff'ing it doesn't take a rocket scientist.
I want to try som of that SA line with the AST coating that Steve at Highcountry showed me.

I get Orvis Wonderline from e bay for about $22, it's good line and that is a good price for it. You just have to watch, it's on there all the time.

You may be right about the cortland 333 being a lower end line, but for someone with limited means, just starting out , that is not extremely sensitive to all the things you mentioned, they work ok.

I recently upgraded from Cortland 444 to SA Mastery GPX, and it's worth every penny. I know that sometimes it's hard to justify spending 55 bucks on a line, but if I were you, I would start saving right now.
