I have had a great time hosting some of the last fly swaps. Many of you have sent me emails regarding swap instructions and mailing preferences. I have put together some tips to help make your UOTF Fly Swap Hosting, or participation a better experience.

Swap Boss's

State the topic or theme of your swap
Create a deadline date
Advise members of any special instructions or swap requests
State the member limit of the swap
Update the Forum thread showing swap participants & pattern being tied
Include Your preference for postage handling
Email members a shipping address (Avoid posting your home address on the forums)
State the dates that flies will be mailed out to everyone

Swap Members

State the fly pattern You are going to tie
Attach a small fly recipe to each one of your flies. (Include Forum Name, Email address)
Enclose your flies in a protected box or container
Enclose a pre-paid, self-addressed return envelope with flies being mailed(Most padded envelopes sent out cost $.83 for local UT delivery)
Send your flies out on time to make the swap deadline
It is a nice gesture to tie up a extra fly for the Swap Boss ;)

I hope this helps out anyone that is new or has questions about UOTF hosted fly swaps. We have some great fly tyers!
