I'm having trouble with my rod wrapping finish. I'm using Flex Coat High Build Formula. I've been stirring it for about 25 minutes but it's not mixing properly. According to the instructions it should "appear clear, then marbeled, then cluody, then again marbeled, then clear."
Mine appeared clear, then marbeled, then white. The more I stir it the whiter (and thicker it gets). How long should this stuff take? Have I done someting wrong? It seems that if it gets any thicker it will be un-useable.

I got a hold of a customer service rep at Flex Coat and he cleared things up (literaly and figuratively). The long and short of it is that rapid stirring put small bubbles into the mixture, thus it never appeared clear.

I mix mine on a sheet of H.D. aluminum foil w/ a wood stir stick. Since my mixing surface is so shallow, the bubbles dissipate very quickly. If any are left, a deep breathe or two exhaled slowly right on the surface of the uncured epoxy "magically" eliminates all micro-bubbles. Beem mixing this way for many years.
