I'm having trouble with my rod wrapping finish. I'm using Flex Coat High Build Formula. I've been stirring it for about 25 minutes but it's not mixing properly. According to the instructions it should "appear clear, then marbeled, then cluody, then again marbeled, then clear."
Mie appeared clear, then marbeled, then white. The more I stir it the whiter (and thicker it gets). How long should this stuff take? Have I done someting wrong? It seems that if it gets any thincker it will be un-useable.

Your mix was not correct or there is contamination in the mix. Make sure you use a 50/50 mix, measured using the syrings that come with the finish. If you did not get the syringes with the finish make sure they are clean by cleaning first with alcohol. You can get a silicone contamination in the finish by not cleaning them. It sounds like it could be either or both of these problems. Hope that helps. If you have any other questionx feel free to call the shop.

Gware,
Where is your shop at? I am assuming somewhere in Utah County?

I did get it taken care of. I was able to contact a customer service rep from Flex Coat and he informed me that the problem stemmed from my mixing the finish too rapidly. The result was a number small bubbles in the finish which kept it from appearing clear when it was done. In short, I over mixed it. The next batch worked out just fine. Thanks to all for their help.
