Any body used these or know where to get them? I'm trying to put together a couple of patterns from the latest Fly Tyer (green drakes) that use these as a body. No way normal goose biots or turkey wing fibers will give me enuf turns for a smooth body for a body this big (size 12). I'm guessing these canada goose fibers are damn long?? Right now i'm trying to double up with turkey fibers but they are butt ugly.

I think I might have some in a misc. bag I have of odd tying materials. I will gvie you a couple if you are going to the tying club meeting Thursday night at Orvis at 7:30.
I don't think they are as long as turkey wing fibers though. I might have some swan wing fibers in there also if they will work.
Let me know.

thanks grouser: these are dyed colors for body wraps. ths photos make them look at least 2 inches long which would be great for such a big fly. guess i'll just keep my eyes open for them.

I dug out those goose wing feathers last night and they are definitely shorter than turkey wing fibers. I guess they are more streamlined for longer flight. I've used turkey wing fibers for dry fly patterns before, and they are just long enough to tie a 14 sized fly.. The material makes a great looking body, but it is not to durable. I put some glue on the hook shank before wrapping the fibers, then rib the fly with some fine tinsel or thread.
Good luck
