Soft Hackle/Wet Fly Swap

Well I expect a few people to enter this one. There is going to be 14 spots available. So act fast. LOL

Swap Etiquette-

Send your flies in a mail proof container. (You spent the time tying up those pretty flies. Use a container that will protect them while in the mail.

Enclose a return self addressed envelope with postage. (You can purchase a padded one at the post office)

Try and attach a label to your flies. Include the name of your flie and your handle name. (I love seeing who tied what.)

One more thing when you send your flies please include your Handle Name from the board and also your real name. This way I can match up everyones flies correctly.

Damn, I just started to read a book on wet flies and soft hackles by Dave Hughes, so far it's great. I was thinking how no one has done a soft hackle swap. Great job getting it going Jaymor, but now it is all full and I can't join, what a bummer. Maybe I'll start a soft hackle 2 swap in a few weeks.

Flysmith I figured I would save you the 3 bucks during the holiday season and drop them off at Orvis for you. Besides your package with its size would take forever to deliver during the holiday mail rush.

I got the flies today, and they seem to be of pretty good quality. I'm excited to go to my small streams during a caddis hatch. I only have one question. I got a CDC adult midge. Do I swing this pattern like other soft hackles/wet flies? Maybe it was for a midge swap?

That's my bug. In the confusion of moving into a new home and having to reset all of my gear up I sent the wrong bugs. I told jay he said you guys are adults you'll deal with it.

If you want my soft hackle then come by my house and I give you one.

For what it's worth that adult midge pattern rules.

It's too bad you all didn't get my syls midge pattern instead of my adult midge pattern. Your patterns are nice and I may just take them all for a spin tomorrow.

How much snow do you have? In Fruit Heights we have 10 on the ground from Sunday's storms.

At least 10-12 inches. It was funny doing fishtails up the hill with those bald tires. Henry's Fork trip wore those tires out with all the Dukes of Hazard peel outs.
