I am familiar with the Diamondback All American series fly rods. I owned an 8' 4wt. that was a wonderful rod, probably my favorite, until it got stolen. It was tough enough to throw the medium size streamers and terrestrials, but sensitive enought to do the delicate midge stuff.
I've talked to many that say the quality and feel of a Diamondback rod is very comparable to a Sage, but for a much lower price. Diamondbacks are much like the other big name rods in that they carry an unconditional lifetime guarantee. I am currently building an 8'6" 5 wt. 3 piece out of Diamonback blanks, so I'll post once I get done and have a feel for how it fishes.
The VSR series is a step up from the All American series. I haven't fished the VSRs, but I hear they're very nice.
