I just finished building a 8' #4 SCIV and tried it out this weekend. It is a very nice rod for the relatively inexpensive price. I have used a Sage RPL 9' #5 for the past several years and this rod is just as nice. It is a fast rod and I had no trouble pushing line into the wind on the middle provo. It has a conditional lifetime warranty on the blank, but have heard from others that they will replace rods for most any reason with a small replacement/shipping fee. Anyone looking to build a first rod or add another rod to the arsenal I would suggest a St Croix SCIV.
