The meeting is July 16 at the Hilton, Salt Lake City Center, Bureau of Reclamation officials will discuss the proposal from Interior Secretary Gale Norton to identify and protect threatened watersheds for the next 25 years through research, cooperative planning, modernized storage and delivery systems.
Here's the skinny. They need bodies there. The critical time is 11:00am to about 12:30. This is an opportunity for public comment. The program is run by the BLM. It is their national water policy. Utah's division of the BLM is not inline with National policy, which is no more dams.
The Gooseberry Narrows Project is a significant concern of ours. If the Dam this built it potentially will eliminate the Scofield and Price River fisheries. This project will be part of the discussion. At 11:30 there will an opportunity for public input.
If you like to fish Schofield and the Price River, you may want to take a lunch break and attend to voice your concern. Questions, contact Steve Schmidt at Western Rivers.
