Well, I've got nine species knocked off the list for a total score of 24 points. It's been tough to say the least. The warm water species have been the toughest because they're so unpredictable. I've tried a variety of flies and techniques but the clouser has been my best warmwater fly. It's definitely been a challenge. Anybody else taken the challenge?

When I started this I had dreams of 100 points! At this point I think if I can break 40 points I will be able to hold my head high.
I've been having a great time chasing other species! And it may be hard to believe for some, but trout have gradually become less interesting to pursue. Infact, I'm done with the standard four species of trout. Aside from fishing for the hybrids, I would be content to only fish for trout a couple more times for the whole year.
Bring on the Walleye, White Bass, Tigers...
This challenge has been just what I needed.
I've knocked off 6 species for a total of 14 points thanks to the 7 point walleye. If I could have landed one of those wipers I'd feel a little better about my score.
Is there a description of the point scale somewhere?

RAW, where did you pick up the Walleye? We pounded Starvation today hoping to pick up a Walleye but just got a bunch of Smallmouth.

I haven't really taken it seriously but this weekend jumped my score up pretty good, I was at moon lake and caught Splake, Brook, Rainbows, and one little tiny kokanee. (at least I was guessing thats what it was since it was almost toally silver with no rainbow coloring) I am posting the pic of hte one nice Splake I caught.
How many points does Moke have?
Jason, I picked up the walleye at Willard while trying to get a wiper. One walleye was about 8 inches long the other was about 14.
What do I get for a............ Ah schit.....NONE!! :(
(_8^(I)....... D'Oh!!
I'm gonna make up my own damn scale for salties down here ;)

and the whole summer changed.
I had figured that I just don't get out/around fishing enough to give this thing a try but the catfish and wiper from friday have given me hope...

Brent,
Looks like you might have to change your handle from stout_trout to stout_otherSpecies!
Question:
Where does this leave whitefish? Are they more exciting now to catch since they are outside of the 4 trout species? (Just kidding.)

stout_spendstoomuchtimefishing is what your wife would say! Don't ever admit to fishing too much.
