ok - just for the record this is not a swap I expect to fill up quickly, and will not get pulled if not enough quick respones. (i.e. I will not pull it)
this swap will end 6/30, and flies must be received (not in the mail) by 7/10.
max 12 total tiers (extra set will be sent so if 12 tiers 12 flies, with extra set being donated to something). any caddis pattern you want, but cannot have an elk hair wing on it.
can be nymph, dry, parachute, whatever.

After the Faint of Heart swap I swore that I wouldn't do another swap, but I can't resist. The last three flies I have done for swaps have been different types of caddis nymphs. I might as well keep the streak alive. I don't know what I am going to tie yet, but count me in.

Count me in. I've got one killer caddis patter you guys have never seen before. But I wont beable to get to them until the 7th is that good enough? parachute, deer wing, deer body tyed like a hopper body with striped quill leggs. The best caddis dry Ive got.

Are other hollow hairs allowed? Deer, antelope, moose etc? I'm in, but I don't know what I'll tie yet.

yea, the 7th is fine... just communicate
as far as other hairs being allowed I'll let everybody, as an individual, be the judge. what I'm trying to do here is stay a way from the traditional EHC.
Jeff
Count me in. Since becoming a new member I have always wanted to get in on a fly swap. I will be tying an Iris Caddis that has worked very well in the Yellowstone area. Since I am new to this are there any rules I need to know? Thanks, Kurt

I'm running low on Improved X-Caddis. Looks like a good excuse to tie more. I'll practice on you guys.

I'm actually going to break my own rule, but it remains with the spirit of the thing. I'll be tying an CDC&EHC caddis.
rules are as outlined by the swap master, typically.

I would love to join, count me in if you need more guys. First fly swap for me as well. I will tie parachtes, the kind that take names and numbers of all trout in the rockies.

To keep in the spirit of all these junior members who've already joined, I think I'll give this a shot as well. I'm not sure what I'll tie yet, but I'll find out soon.

if I'm counting correctly, including myself, that is 8 total tyers.
4 spots left.

go ahead and count me in. I will come up with something.

I figure I'll tie up some Muskrats. Do I need to wait for your approval/blessing on the pattern, or can I just start tying?
I'm going to try and tie these up and get them sent before I deploy next, which could be later this week, so I'll need an address and any other instructions fairly soon.

no approval needed, we're all big boys (or big girls if that applies LOL).
we've got 2 spots left... I got an email from a member at FAOL.

you have counted lone something twice. Sorry I can't remember the name. I have almost finished the flies, so I am just about ready to go(send them). Keep it up.
solowookie

you are correct... looked at that list like 5 or 6 times to make sure no duplicates...
we have 1 opening still then.

after a short and sweet dinner brake I have finshed all of the 12 flies. "Rockstar caddis". I'll stay posted to find out more.

Oceans Eleven came on HBO last night, so I stayed up and tied all of mine. So where do I send them. I know it's a bit early, but if I don't get it all done now, I'll end up being one of the late ones;^)

please send self addressed envelope, and toe tag all your flies. I would also like a copy of the recipe, and I'll try to find somebody to photograph the flies, and everybody will get a copy.
my camera isn't good enough to do it, so is there any volunteer's (won't auto focus so they blur because too small)?

I can give it a shot, and if I'm not happy with how they turn out I'll get my brother to do it.
....Still thinking of patterns. Think I'll pull out Lafontaine's book and go with one of his bugs.

LOL, ya know when I started this swap I had no idea what pattern I would tye...
still got 1 opening for this swap.

I'd probably be up to it if I could tie LaFontaine's Diving Caddis (wet fly)?? Now that I've recovered from the last minute tie shock of the "Faint of Heart" swap I've been cranking out at least a dozen a day.

If Trouty or anyone else opts out can I be the first alternate? This swap is right up my alley...

trouty, you're in... only restriction was no traditional ECH...
solowookie
06-02-2003, 03:58 PM
seabass...
if everybody else is in agreement then we'll let you participate. we were going to do 12 flies with 1 set as a spare in case somebody lost a set, and then dontate that set to some cause.
everybody could still tye 12 flies, but there wouldn't be an extra set left over.
so what does everyone think?

Sound good to me. Never turn down someone who fishes a lot of caddis patterns!!

I wonder about some of these Cache Valley folk.
Sure, let him in. As long as he shows up at the UTOF Far North Tying Club meeting tomorrow and gives us a preview! ;o)

How are we doing on this? Just wondering if all the flies have made it (especially mine) and when we might be seeing some in the mail.
I guess I shouldn't be asking too many questions considering mine were probably the last to arrive.
Hello all, I received the flies in the mail today and they look awesome. I may have to skip work some time this weekend and give a few a try. Thanks again solowookie for hosting this fly swap. Kurt

I got mine in the mail a while back and was very pleased. Thanks everyone for a well done, timely fly swap. I am going to give them a shot. If anyone has success with the rockstar, please email me and tell me what you think. I would love to hear how it worked out for others...thanks again.
