What hooks do you guys use for the dry fly for a salmonfly pattern? The one's I have been using lately seem to not float very well, even with a lot of foam. Either I am not tying them too well (very possible), or there exist hooks that are better floaters than others?
Any favorite hooks?

Jeff- I guess it depends on the foam you are using- The flies that I make out of the 3 layered (triple decker) type foam - I use a Mustad stinger hook- that gap is like a gaff hook- doesn't bother the float at all- and I have no stikes where I miss them because thefoam is hampering that smaller hook- Raws twisted foam style- I have gone back to the standard hopper straightshanked hook.
Though one of the best patterns I have- use foam as a bullethead and some of the wing- the body is floatng yarn and moose hair for the other part of the wing-- no problems with it sinking- I only like to put floatant on the top 1/2 so the fly sits lower in the water. Sometimes that all foam fly is tough to cast to the banks on the big windy rivers like the SF of the Snake.
