Would like to invite users of this site to the Expo. Several tiers will be doing tying demos. I know Paul Stimpson will be doing some but not sure of day or time. Kim Jensen will probably tie too.

I'll be doing one on March 14th at 2:30 P.M. Will be tying air-filled flies and twisted foam flies in the tying theatre. I may be doing some demos at Amato Publishers booth space also, but this has not been confirmed. I'll keep you posted.

Show dates: March 14-17 South Towne Exhibition Center.

Would be fun to meet some of you!

I know that Paul will be tying and Kim Jensen, RAW will you be tying some of your O2 flies.

I will be leading some discussion periods on Blue Ribbon Fisheries.

I believe that Ed Kent and Drew Cushing will also have information on the Town Fishery Initiative.

I believe that Roger Wilson will be discussing the future of Strawberry; not good from what I hear.

Some of the big names haven't signed up yet; but it will still be a big show and a fun time.

If you show up at 2:30 on Thursday, it will be me. I'll be the one with the funny looking head and nervousness in his voice.

Wes, Yes, I will be tying O2 patterns and twisted foam patterns.

Fanatic, Yes, funny head and nervous.

Everyone else, I might be hanging at Amato Publication booth periodically, but will not be doing tying demos there. They do not have the space for it.

Mcg,

I'm pretty sure the book will be there. I will gladly autograph a copy for anyone who stops by when I'm there.

Trout Unlimited has been offered a booth at the ISE. I need volunteers to participate in manning the booth. If you are a TU member and want to get into the show for free, let me know.

I need your name and TU ID#.

Hi Wes,
Let me know if I can help out this year. Unsure of the dates I can come as of yet? But I will try to commit to something. Need to get with you to hit the Weber one day! What are the show dates complete?

What a bummer of a time to not have a job! I sure could have used a few things I saw at the expo today.

If anybody wants a pretty good rod/reel outfit, Elkhorn flyrods was selling anything they had for $130. Not to pimp anything but I liked them.

Learned a few tips on casting that will come in handy, and learned how to tie a snail imitation that I can't wait to try on Mantua.

I'd recommend going, this was the first one I've been to and ended up spending five hours in there and could have stayed for more.

Graycliff,

Was that you pulling your six-shooters at the Borger casting demo?

BANG! BANG! your dead.

Yes, I was with the other lemmings.

After deriving 95% of my casting prowess(nothing to brag about) sans instruction, I was able to put a few things away for future reference.

Anyone know who or what is going on down there today? I might go down with my son.

Fred, I think Gary Borger is going to put on a "class" for designing flies, and Denny Rickards is there also on stillwater flytying. There is some other tiers but I'm not sure who.

Thanks.

I'm heading down in a few and I also found the schedule on the link Jason posted. Took me awhile, but I got it.

It wasn't too bad this year. I talked with Wes about some great new water possibilities -- keep us posted Wes.

My son really liked the displays and games this year, so that made it fun for all. Saw Gary Borger doing his Fly Design stuff -- not too bad.

I have to get my fix somehow. We just had a baby girl last week, so my fishing time has been limited. All you self or unemployed 100%-of-the-time Provo fishers have gotten me a little jealous now. I need to change jobs or something.

Went to the expo with my 7-year old son from about 2:15 until 4:15. Too many cool things to look at. Saw some fly tying by Denny Rickards, some casting competitions, and lots of nice merch.

My son couldn't stand to stay in one place too long, so we moved around quite a bit. He enjoyed it. Did some bow and arrow shooting and hit the trout pond. Took a while standing in line, but once he made it to the pond, he was bustin them fish out like a champ. He was on a roll during those five minutes, but he couldn't get any takes from those big ones in there, unfortunately.

Anyway, overall, it was worth the seven bucks. My son agrees.
