Has anybody fished in Yosemite National Park? I'm heading there the second week of June. Any info is much appreciated!

Bring a shoe horn. Not so much for the fishing but for the camping.

Icthys,
The Merced River that runs through the Valley is an absolutely beautiful river. The fish don't get that big because the river isn't very nutrient rich (granite bedrock). If I were you, I would check out some of the streams and lakes in the high backcountry and leave the heat and crowds behind. By the way, are you going to do any climbing there?

yea, he's gonna go climb snake dike on half-dome with me. Then we'll go hit Moby Dick on El Capitan and so on...

I was wondering about the fishing in the Merced River too. I was supposed to be heading to the Valley with a group this weekend for 10 days, but my climbing partner couldn't get the time off. We're headed to the City of Rocks for a weekend trip instead, and hopefully in the fall we'll get to Yosemite. I'm headed to Squamish in June.
Snake Dike sounds like a fun route except for the R. I've heard stories about the notorious Valley runouts. :(

So how many of you guys are way into climbing? I've been looking for some people that I could do climbing/fishing trips with. I mostly do boulder/sport, but I am game for some trad or moutaineering. I really want to go climb at Rifle this summer and then go hit the Fryingpan, Roaring Fork, and Colorado rivers. I also am dying to do a Teton climbing/fishing trip. It's hard to find someone who has decent climbing and flyfishing skills.
