Can anybody give me some info on the stretch below Naughton.
I am curious about the fee area, is it an honor system or do you have to contact somebody before going in. Also, any info on flows and patterns, techniques, etc.

The only fee is for parking, and that's optional. There are two places you can park. To park in the closer of the two lots, you have to pay (I think it's $10, but maybe it's only $5). IMO, there's no need to pay to park, since the other parking lot is only a couple hundred feet further away.
You'll follow a gravel road down to the river, and you can fish from the dam downstream to an old barbed-wire fence. It's not well-marked, but if you cross it, you're trespassing and the locals don't take kindly to trespassers. The first time I was there I didn't know that you couldn't cross the fence and I enjoyed a spectacular day of fishing below the fenceline until someone came and warned me.
I haven't been there this time of year so I'm not sure what's hatching. Make sure you have parachute adams, midge patterns, SJWs, wooly buggers, and I've also done real well with a chamois worm pattern.

Don't know what area you are talking about- but if it's below Viva Naughton dam- that parking info is incorrect- there is a no tresspass fee.

Do you pay the trespass fee at a mailbox sitting on the side of the gravel access road? If so, then I was under the false impression that the fee was for parking (that's what I was told by a friend who took me there for the first time). Apparently I've been fishing without paying the fee -- oops. Stimmy, sorry for the false information.

No- not at a mailbox- down the gravel road in a locked old box- better than the coffee can years ago- but years ago a 6 pack of Pabst and it had to be Pabst, did the trick.

Yeah that box must be it. I haven't been there for quite awhile, so my memory's a bit foggy.

The only public area of the river is about 100 yards directly below the uppoer dam or below the lower dam and there is usually a fair amout of company stacked up there. The owners of the property south of the "poorly marked" barb wire fence complete with an access ladder, spoken of in the previous post patrol the area with a vengance and don't take kindly to strangers. It's confusing because of the pay box in the parking lot, but I know for a fact that putting money into tht box has nothing to do with the private area of the river. I've heard that you can visit a farm house about half way between the reservoirs and pay a fee to access and fish this property but I'm not clear about the cost or if this information is even correct. If you find out I'd like to know. There is some nice trout water there if you can find a way to fish it.

The owner of the private property passed away a few years ago. I believe he died of Haunta Virus. I believe his family still allows people to fish the private area. But you must pay a rod fee. I haven't fished the area since the gentleman died. If anyone knows if fishing is still allowed let me know also.
Thanks!

I was there two weeks ago. The fee is $10. We got there at 10:00 A.M. and there were allready three vehicles there. Nothing was happening up top. The river is way low. I talked to the rancher that works the land, he said the river was going to be low the entire season. We went back to the truck to eat lunch and all three vehicles had left.
