I was just wondering what fly you use throughout the year on the provo that has produced fish consistantly?
Mine of course has been the rd back sow. I have spent a lot of time trying to make a pattern that best resembles the ones on the provo and this is one that i like and have fished throughout the year.

It would be a toss up between a clouser (orange and brown -- sculpin) and a chamois caddis. I have caught more on a clouser, but my biggest fish were on the chamois caddis.

For some reason, looking over my fishing log, I've taken the most trout on the Provo with Soft-Hackle Hares Ears, with the Pheasant Tail and Cased Caddis taking the silver and bronze medals. I suspect the soft hackle hares ear resembles the sowbug, and light colored mayfly nymphs...

Middle Provo I've caught fish at all times of the year on a Black Zebra Midge. The Lower would have to be my sow bug pattern.

Baetis,
They do have a strip of red on the back. You really can switch around the colors on the back but i have found that a lot of fish really key in on the red back. The recipe is on another thread.
If you cant find it e-mail me and ill send it to you
