I am so glad I stopped by and saw both of you. Lowcountry that white zonker you showed me was the only thing that would work on Willard. I tried the flies I tied up, Nothing. I tried yours. a 20 inch Wiper.

And then there's Fshfanatic that made using Lowcountry's fly usable. If I hadn't bought that u-tube from you. I would have had the worst time out on the water. Let alone trying to put the fish on the stringer, etc.

Thank you both.

PS. For those of you who weren't involved, I'll let you in on what happened. I decided to hit Willard Bay today. But on the way I decided to finally buy Fshfanatics U--tube. It was soooooooooo worth it. I made it so much easier getting on and off the water. The release valve deflated my tube in only 10 seconds, as compared to the 5 minutes it would take for my round boat.

When I arrived, I tried fishing from shore for a brief period then the lure fisherman that was there, (southwest corner of the bay) said they're about 50 yards out, and about 6 ft or so down, or at least that's where he was catching his. He also said that his lures were a chartreuse color.

I then went back to my car, got the new u-tube, pumped it up in about 30 seconds, (that was so neat), and floated out to that distance. tried a couple of the flies that I had tied, but I think they were too heavy in the head part. Finally I tried a white zonker that Lowcountry showed me and a type II sinking line. Trolled about a hundred yards or so, stipping occasionally, and after about 15 minutes or so, I had my 20 inch wiper. It was a female, bursting with eggs. I'll tell you what, hooking a 4 lb, 20 inch wiper in a float tube is an experience. IT WAS TOWING ME AROUND THE LAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After I got it home, I found out it was a female, full of microscopic eggs. In examining it's stomach, it looks like it was starving. there was NOTHING in there, in it's intestines there was only a small amount of some green mudlike stuff.

And that's all. It was awesome.

Wipers are like red snapper. They are light, flakey, mild tasting fish. They are by far one of my favorite fish to eat. Mahi Mahi, Tuna, Salmon, Shark, dare I say even trout don't match up to the taste of these wonderful fish.

Actually I was trying my hand at the crappie and smallmouth at Pineview.

It that turns out to be REALLY bad then I might head to bountiful pond and try carp or catfish.

So in summary, probably not. Maybe next wednesday or so. That's my only day off during the week
