Anyone have any suggestions for a vise around 75-100 dollars?

I just bought a full rotary vise at Sportsman's Warehouse for only $45. It even comes with a pedestal and C-clamp. I was amazed that it was so cheap. There aren't many full rotary vices for under 50 dollars.

I just picked up a griffen spider from flytiers.com (http://flytiers.com/data/store.asp?cmd=1&nCategoryID=88) great price, and a great deal. this vice is normally $69.95, and it was delivered to my house for under $60.

this is also a full rotary vice, but I also think griffen's got a good name in the industry. I'm real happy with my vice.

At that price range I would highly recommend the Dan Vise. It's probably the only cheaper vise that is backed by a great warranty and that is used by tyers such as Paul Stimpson and the Beatty's.

I don't know if you saw in my other post a while back, but I have the Dan Vise and it's pretty old. A piece of the jaws broke off and Al Beatty sent me a new set at no cost. That's pretty amazing for a vise under $100!

You won't go wrong with this vise. Also there is a little trick I've been doing with mine that eliminates the need for a parachute tool if you use them. You can take your bobbin holder and turn it a certain way that will allow you to use a small clip and turn it into a cheap parachute tool that works great.

My personal opinion is that if you are going to spend under $100 for a vise than the Dan Vise is the only way to go.

Danvise is great. I used one until I found a great deal on a Traveler.

If you can stretch to $110, consider the Dyna-King Kingfisher. While not a rotary vise, the jaws do rotate, it holds hooks in a variety of sizes very securely, and comes with a pedstal.
