With just over a week to go for our next meeting (May 6th) I thought I would remind you that it was a concensious of the group to tie foam patterns. Time to get your materials ready for a night of fun and brownies (the eating kind!).

By the way, what ever happenned to Dave R.? Did he drop off the face of the earth? I know he went to Cincinatti last month but I didn't think they would want to keep him. ;^)

Hey Larry,

I am alive but I've been traveling like a nut lately. I was in Cincinnati when my company was bought out so the new owners are all over us for some quick sales. The timing of all this sucks as I've been fishing about once every two weeks at the moment and it's pratically KILLING me. The fish are so willing and scrappy right now that I hate to miss the opportunities. I must admit however, that I'm not at all sorry to have missed the "Cub River Outing" that several of our "to remain nameless" associates partook in! Are we going to have to have a future meeting at a correctional facility? Some people's kids! :) Just kiddin' T4x, Stef, etc. Had to get just one shot in!

Anyhow, I'm looking forward to the next meeting and plan to be there unless another trip pops up.
I look forward to seeing everyone. I want to hear some good fishing stories since I haven't been able to make very many of my own.

I haven't tied in over a month. I need to get back into my groove. I'll have to come and get some new ideas. There will be "Refreshments" I presume. Thats enough to get me there.

Jason posted a reminder of what the theme was going to be. I am glad someone remembers what we were planning on doing.

Just incase you did not remember or read his post it is FOAM!

Sorry to hear about the tables at last month's meeting. I was planning on being there but while in Cincinnati on Monday, I found out that I had to fly directly to Fresno for another meeting. In all the chaos I forgot to call the Center. I'll be sure to call and get things setup for next week! See you then.

Post the address again. I might show up. Maybe I'll fish during the day and tie in the evening.

Sorry I missed last nights' meeting of CA. I had granddaughter detail in Ogden till about 9pm. Melissa needed an outfit for the senior prom. I never even had time to visit Lowcountry.

Did Stef burn the brownies or something? I heard there was a fire at the water lab. Or maybe it was just her and nightfish! lol

RAW-

We would be more than happy to defer to you giving a short demo if you would like.

Grand children are very important! Yes, Larry we did try to burn down the water lab but could only get a few rooms in the EQL lab to go along. We are still in business no real problems for most of us. We did have the meeting up at the foresty service center (we should have more there with those nice big leather chairs there, they must be liked more than us poppers down at the water lab). Ron got a few more committees going and everyone seems to be working forward on the club. What is your email, I have a list of all meetings and outings lined up, I need to send one to you or anyone else that may be interested!

Thanks Chris

I'll just tie with the rest of you. Anyone interested in what I'm doing is welcome to watch. Many masters out there who make some of my creations look a lot better than I do.

I hope you can make it RAW, it would be great having the true "MASTER" present.

I was only 30 minutes late and everybody had left!!! I even brought cookies...good ones...not burnt...and off limits to Larry (grrrr....;)!! I still can't believe I did that!! When I saw you posting about it I automatically assumed it was this week. One of these days I'll be on time...on the right day...and in the right spot...then I'll probably end up with a citation!
So how bout tying next Tues :)
P.S. Cookies will be in the office tommorrow if you want to stop by and pick some up (went all out and made a bizillion).

Stef -- LOL LOL LOL -- How long did you tie before realizing it was the wrong day? Well it was a great opportunity to get your 6 flies done for the CA.

It was nice to meet you both Steelie and RAW. And I loved the foam patterns RAW...it was nice to be able to watch you tie them. And it's always fun hearing the stories Trout4X makes up!

Trout4X...what is that stuff on the top of the lakes and rivers...it sits and collects for days...can't quite think of the name!

Crosby...the rumors must be true ;) Lynda is very beautiful and a sweetheart, I'm glad she came along.

Once again it was (for the most part) great company and good times!

Thanks for letting me come crash your party. I'm actually shy when it comes to tying in front of people so thanks for being nice. Was good to put names and faces together. You get to see what peoples real personalities are like when you finally meet them.

The river was nice too. A little slow, but the solitude was nice. I think only about 5 or 6 cars went up the canyon the 5 hours I was there. I want to be on that river when a good hatch is going and the fish are working it. Watching those trout come from the bottom to the surface was like fishing in slow motion. Good fun.

Thanks again.

P.S. Brownies were great. Nice and rich. Would be good with some vanilla ice cream.

Thanks for coming RAW and thanks for the flies you donated for our Casting Clinic Raffle!

Stef -- Great brownies!! My wife was pretty happy when I brought them home.

Steelie -- Great to meet you

Larry and Dave R. -- We missed you!

I take it that the table situation was ok; I called in and they told me they'd take care of it. I'm really bummed that I missed everyone. My company got bought out last month and the new owners are making quite a habit of having last minute, after-hours requirements! I especially wanted to meet Raw and see him tie his patterns. Also would have been nice to meet Steelie, and did I hear that Crosby made it too? I'm getting behind the locals curve here! I'm hoping to meet all of you guys in the near future. I'm glad everyone had a good time last night.

Any chance that you can fish this Friday T4X?

Drop me a line.

RAW- thank you very much for showing the twisted foam patterns- I have had to start another box - just to keep all the variations of colors that I have tied since then.

I would like to say it was an excercise in futility down in Salt Lake but some good actually came of it. However the original procedure is now scheduled for May 30th.

I hope I am able to attend the June meeting.

What is the theme going to be?
