It is still a bit early but i wanted to set the day for the next meeting for Monday May 12. We had a great time last time and I look forward to the next meeting. I demenstrated two patterns and was wondering if anyone had some other patterns they would like to show (maybe curtis has some good dry patterns) I still have to make sure its ok with Greg at LP. We had vises available for those that are just starting the art of tying. No dues just fun.
Who may be intrested?

Should work for me. Were we going to switch to Tuesday's starting in May? What works best for people?

Either day is good for me.

I learned a lot last time. I had a good time too. I am really serious about learning to fish the Provo effectively. Maybe we could stick to the Provo River theme. Unless anyone objects.

Maybe we could demonstrate a few more BWO patterns and maybe a few PMDs.

I would like to start attending, but I can't meet on Mondays so if you change the meeting to Tuesdays I'll be there...

Jason B,

I am sorry to hear that--I hope everything works out okay. Tuesdays would be fine with me.

Well Jason, I hope you're ok. I think the consensus is Tuesday works best. So let's shoot for as a rule, the 2nd Tuesday of the month. That means next Tuesday the 13th. Sound ok?

The next 4 tuesdays are bad for the store. We have our tying class that evening. How about Wed. or Fri.

Good to know, Greg. Let's shoot for Wednesday's then. We'll just say the 2nd Weds of the month as a rule for now starting at 7pm. So we'll plan on the 14th at 7pm.

I'm thinking either PMD's or we can do more Baetis. Any other choices? I'd also be up for tying some warmwater patterns too.

How late are you planning on tying? I'd like to show up but I am helping with the Community Kids Fishing program and couldn't get there until 7:30 or 8:00?

We should still be going strong by then. Come when you can.
Oh yea.... the last one there brings donuts.

Curtis Fry

Just playing with you, trouty. Maybe we'll have a pizza or two if everyone wants to chip in a couple of bucks.

I found a new tying tool today, I will have it there Wed. It makes tying glo bugs real quick and easy. Heck, even I can tie them now.

Jason B. you feeling any better?.

I agree, a trip on the river would make anyone feel better. I'll look at my schedule for the next couple of weeks and let you know. Do you think you will make it to the tying club meeting???

Jason,

I should be free on Monday. Lets get together and get on the water. We could hit the lower Provo this time.

I also am seriously considering Monday morning if you don't mind a three-some. I haven't been for a couple of weeks and could use the change in scenery!!

I have some people coming to lay carpet sometime monday but that shouldn't get in the way. I'll find out what time there coming and let you know. I will be on the water monday for sure though.

Greg, i am unable to make it on any other night than monday. I have work from 3pm to 11pm Tues. thru Sat. I'll try schedualing that Wed. off so i can make it but i won't be there this month. Sorry.

Monday morning works for me. What time you guys feel like waking up?

Trouty
05-07-2003, 08:36 PM
I don't usually like to wake up before 5:00 if I can help it but could if needed. I'm about 35 minutes from the mouth of Provo canyon. I would prefer the LP to reduce driving time plus I don't expect a lot of fishermen there Monday morning but am willing to go elsewhere. Unless something changes with work, count me in and let me know where we want to meet.

Let's go as early as you like.

What's the best place for us to meet up? The gas station at the mouth of the canyon might be a good spot.

7:30 would be best for me, or for my sleep i should say. I have been fishing the campground alot although i have wanted to try up by Vivian Park lately. Campground would be best to get into some nice fish. How does 7:30 at the campground parking lot sound?

MPHarper
05-07-2003, 08:47 PM
7:30 sounds good. I haven't fished the campground area much. It will be fun to get on some new water. Is the campground above or below Vivian Park?

Jason B
05-07-2003, 09:54 PM
The campground is right below deer creek dam. There is some nice fish through there.

Trouty
05-07-2003, 09:56 PM
Sounds good to me. We could fish both sections. I fish the Vivian section quite a bit but rarely fish the campground. We could hit both and swap stories and spots.

Sorry, but I have to bail on Monday Morning. My wife has a doctors appointment that morning at 8:30 and she wants me to go with her.

Knock em dead and catch a few for me.

Wife wants you at the doctor with her? ...... expecting maybe!?

Is nhancock going to be there too or is he unable to go? I'm still planning on being there.

Good Luck MPHarper, I'm sure there will be plenty of fish left for you that were uncaught by us!

Jason B

I still plan on being there. If there is anyone else that want to come the invitation is open still

Dustin
05-12-2003, 06:48 PM
Well, if Wednesday is the night I will be unable to attend. Have fun without me!!!

Dustin

Curtis Fry
05-12-2003, 07:49 PM
So for this Weds night. Who do we have attending?

I think PMD's would be a good topic, although I'm open for suggestions. I'd personally like to see Bluegill and other warmwater patterns, but that's probably a stretch for the majority of people.

7pm at LP then. If we decide on a fly topic, then we'll put out a material list. Otherwise, we'll shoot from the hip.

I am working swings for the next few months. This Wednesday looks doubtful. Don't change plans on my account though.
Every night looks pretty bad this week. Next month I should be able to work something out. Sorry.

It looks like I will be able to swing by for a little while. I may be a little late though. I am coming on my lunch break. I like the PMD theme. I have a few simple patterns that I use. I would like to see some other alternatives.
