Need some info on this fly- is that fly Kelly Gallop promoted-
need to know what you know about- I have a bro that lives on the So Fork of the Sanke- he has been fishing something like that- a deerhair head- a wooly palmered body and maribou tail- so he says he has been slamming the big bows. If this is close I will get you his receipe.

Not sure if this will help or not, just trying. Don't ask me what it says, I just look at the pictures.

For the most part I can make out most of what is being said. But some words are different. I am 95 % sure it's swedish. I served a mission in Denmark and the languages have mostly the same root origins.
btw, if anyone comes across any danish flytying websites, etc, that they want translated, I'd be happy to oblige.

All I know about the fly is that a friend of mine living in Boise told me that he's been catching lots of fish on a deer hair wooly. I'd never heard of the fly before, so I did some internet searches and all I could find was the link that Trout4X posted. I'm not sure if that's the fly or not, that's why I decided to post the question. I'll contact my friend and get more info from him.

if you want to know what it looks like, get him to send you a picture and ask him how he fishes it.

That is the only one I am aware of and the link T4x gave is a good representation of the fly with the exception of the hackle which should be smaller.
You can see the fly on the video "Lafontaine Originals Vol.1" as tied by Char Stimpson.
Basically it is a dry fly hook with spun deer hair(trimma kroppen till spolform!) and one size smaller(than the hook size) grizzly hackle.
Hope this helps.

Welcome Shadowc from Sweden. It's good to see posts from different parts of the world.
I know Sweden is a big country but by chance do you know Lars-Ake Olsson He is a river keeper on the Idsjostrommen section of the Gim River in Northern Sweden. He was kind enough to send me a few of his "Fluttering Stones" patterns that he uses there. I haven't had a chance to try them yet but will soon.
He and his wife spend their winters in Bozeman, Montana here in the USA. He also has a website at : www.scandiwestflyfishing.com.
Anyway, good to hear from you.
