Anybody ever fish the Fort Hall Bottoms on the Blackfoot reservation north of Pocatello. I ran onto this article a while back

http://www.anglerguide.com/articles/125.html

Yesterday, on our way to the fly tying expo (it was excellent, I'll never go back to that piece of crap at Southtowne Expo center) in Idaho Falls yesterday, we stopped and talked to the tribe's fishery folks. To fish on the reservation, you need to buy a tribal licenses. For non-tribal members its $40 a day or $170 a season. They only sell 6 daily passes each day. Its pretty much catch and release, fly fishing only and there is 12 + miles of pretty big spring creeks that feed American Falls Reservoir. Anybody ever fish there? Its only 90 miles from Plain City and $170 isn't too bad if the fishings good. Any info would be appreciated.

So the trip was excellent and the expo was bad?

I would have to agree if you were to fish the Fort Hall area the year license would be the way to go. From the website you provided looks like nice fish etc.

I have relatives that live just off the reservation. One of my cousins is an avid fly fisherman. He usually fishes the snake. Next time I see him I will ask about this area. It's literally in his back yard.
