I just found this site and really enjoy so far.
We have a four day trip palnned for the Green River around the first and second week of June. We have family coming from out of town to go and I have been designated to do the fly tying for eight people. I would really appreciate it if some of you could share the flies that you think we will need. I was thinking secadas and different midges. But any and all help would be great. Names, patterns, etc.. Thanks in advance for your help, TS

There are several sites that list patterns, including this one. On the main menu, click on entomology, then select hatch charts, then click on Green River.
Other sites:

go to fishing report

Check both of these as you get closer. They're updated frequently.
As for June, don't forget that hoppers, beetles & ants, and parachute Adam's work well, especially with a beadhead midge dropper. PT's & hares ears are a good bet as well.

Go to the homepage of this site. Click on Resources on the left and then on the top right click on Trout Creek Flies or Western Rivers. They have river reports and recommended flies.
However, I tie up every recommended fly in those reports--which is no small task--when I go up there, and I rarely catch fish on any of those patterns. I still tie them up anyway before I go because I enjoy tying, but I always catch fish on other patterns, not those.

I will let you know how my trip goes the end of May. The best advice for this site is to use it and all of its resources. Ask questions and get to know other members.

TS,
A cicada with an ant dropper can be killer that time of year. Make sure you have some orange on your cicada, imho it makes or breaks a cicada pattern.

Junge, Where can I see a secada pattern with orange on it? The one I have been tying is just kind of a standard one, black foam body, rubber legs, crystal flash for underwings, elk hair for wings. Thanks, Travis

You can use your same pattern and just use orange thread. Wrap the hook with either orange dubbing or the thread before you add your foam. The foam covers most of the orange so the fish just gets a hint of the color. Also use the orange thread to segment the body of the fly.
