Do you tie the night before a trip?

Do you tie up a few every day?

Or do you just replenish you box after a trip?

Just curious what everyone does. I tie a few ever day. Usually a half dozen of the same pattern in a couple of sizes. That keeps me stocked but I still run out on the water once in a while (cuz I forgot to refill).

How often do you try a new pattern? ONe you might see on here or magazines?

Just curious?

I tie a few everyday...

I'm still pretty new at tying, so my boxes aren't at a point where I have all the flies I want in there.

I'm also trying to get my dry flybox done slowly before the summer months hit.

I try and tie a few a day. If I hear of a new pattern I may try it out and see if it is worth it to tie more.

Solowookie if you ever get all the flies you want let me know, I think that is impossible, but if you do you can send all the ones you don't want my way. LOL

yea - I'm sure it is almost impossible to have everything in a flybox somebody would want. I'm trying real hard though LOL.

at least 12 flies per size at a time, all winter, so i have plenty as a stock to re-fill my vest boxes for the spring/summer/fall. course i always have to re-tie a bunch as i work through the stock but that just whets the appetite..
