Going on Saturday to fish RAW's Chain Stitch pattern, what other flies have been working and I should make sure I have some with me.
Thanks,

I would also take the "get-there-very-early-and-stake-a-claim-before-the-people-hatch-gets-in-full-swing-which-should-be-around-9:00-o'clock" fly
RS2, your favorite midge nymph (brassie, yong, whatever), olive wd 40, mating midge, comparadun, and parachute adams.
Good luck.

CDC loop wing emerger, quigley cripple, small starling softie with a thread body and spiky grey rabbit dubbing. All three worked great on tuesday. Adult patterns were good only for the first half hour of the hatch.

Last Sunday I was on the middle Provo with a few friends and we slayed them with a sow bug pattern tied with wapsi rainbow dubbing. We have had great success with it for about a month. Happy fishin

For bigger fish go with WD40's RS2's and other small Olive Nymph patterns. It is always wise to fish them with a sow. I will almost always fish a sow and whatever i think is on the water. There has been an abundance of Midge out on the water so don't forget the zebras.

Jason B is right on. Always, always, always fish a sow bug on the Provo. Even when the baetis or pmds are in full swing, sow bugs will still get you the majority of fish(at least in my experience). The real good thing about hatches on tailwaters is that all of the smaller fish are distracted by the flys on top. That means Mr. Big has a better chance at seeing your nymph.

Fred, you're right about that! Last time I was up there on Saturday, a guy was just sitting at a hole "waiting until the hatch came off" (his exact words). That was at 11am and the fish didn't even start to come up until closer to 1pm in that section.
The midges haven't been really heavy lately and the Baetis last time didn't start until about 12:30, so go sow, RS2, Barr Emerger (hot), underneath or at least suspended until the fish come up top.
After the hatch dies off, try for more baetis nymphs on the bottom.

The Baetis are hot and heavy right on the lower now. The past few days The hatch has been starting around 11 to 11:30 an going until about 2:30 to 3. WHen the fish are on top, nearly any bwo pattern wil work. The key is a long fine leader and a very good drift. I have been using para adams, bwo thorax, sparkle duns, quill body para's and reg. bwo para's and they all have been catching fish. Later in the day the fish have been keying in on cripples and stillborns and I have been catching fish on dry cripples clear until dark. Early a larger dry with a beadhead dropper such as a wd 40, barrs emerger, and micro mayfly on a 2 foot leader have been handily outfishing Nymphs dragging the bottom. The browns seem to be keying in on the drifting nymphs.

Should have seen the river today, the wind was a factor but the fish were feasting
