I've never fished the Blackfoot River, but today my father-in-law was telling me how good the fishing used to be there. He hasn't been there for over a decade, though, and I wondered if anyone could let me know if it's worth the trip, and if so, what to expect.

I fish it every year. It was very good about 4 years ago. Since then the river has been very low because of drought. The res. where most of the fish came from is very low and I think there has been far less numbers of fish spawning up the river. So it just depends on snowpack and whether the fish made it through the winter.
