I'm heading to the green river for the first time in a couple of weeks. I'm hoping somebody can give me a recocommendations on what to take for this time of year. I typically prefer nymph style.

I will be wading, and was thinking about hitting little hole.

here's my list so far;

BWO Nymph
Green Drake
Brassie
Midge Emerger
Blook Larva
Serendipity
midge larva
Tungsten Beadhead Larva
zebra midge
orange, pink scuds in #12
orange, tan, gray scuds in #18
pheasant tail's #18
san juan's

Make sure you have red and copper brassies. 18-24. You also might consider tossing a couple streamers (Zonkers, Buggers). Also instead of just red SJ Worms, take some brown ones too.

Personally, I'd never go to the Green without the trusty Parachute Adams. I've also done well in late April / early May with Yongs.

thanks for the suggestion... the #32 is out of the question for now because I don't have any hooks smaller then #20, and no fly shop close here.

thanks for the suggestions. I do have some brown marabous leaches, black hotheaded leachers etc. I can use as an attractor too. I'll have to look into those copy other ones mentioned as I have no idea what they are.

I'll lave to look into the rest of these but I believe I've got material's for most of these. I didn't mention my dry flies, but I'm loaded with dry flies included griffeth's gnats, adam's etc.

I live about 1 1/2 hour, or a touch more, from dutch john. I've fly fished small rivers my entire life, but after fishing a couple times on the north platte with my brother I'm starting to get hooked.

I began to tye my own flies this winter, and I have had a lot of fun with it.

do I need both BWO larva, and green drake? what time of year does the green drake typcially hit?

I realize these are different sizes.

Sorry, but the Green doesn't have Green Drakes. Just focus on midges and BWO patterns, both nymphs and dry flies. Smaller the better. Our Green River trip report might help you out.
