I was just wondering how all you guys did this weekend on the Green?

Danny,

I fished with my dad at Little Hole Friday, Grasshopper Island on Saturday, and below the dam on Sunday.

Overall, the fishing was spotty. There was a BWO hatch that came up, but I was never at the right place at the right time to take advantage of it. I know Jason, Brent and some of the other guys were fortunate enough to hit it on Friday and Saturday and they did well during those times. Outside of that, small midge nymphs and small mayflies seemed to work well. Streamer fishing wasn't very good.

So, I spent most of my time fishing deep and picked up most of my fish on small RS2s and midge nymphs. We were able to pick up a few of the scum suckers here and there. Down by Grasshopper Island on Saturday the best set up for me was a size 12 beadbutt scud and an RS2. There was a late-afternoon midge hatch that brought up a few heads, but nothing to write home about. On Sunday, Jason, Brent (stout_trout), and I fished for a while just above the boat ramp below the dam and picked up some fish on RS2s and small midge nymphs. Brent had a little orange midge nymph that picked up quite a few fish. Then, I hiked down hoping to catch a BWO hatch, but ended up fishing to pods of scum suckers and then left about 3:00.

fishn (Herb) and I fished above Little Hole on Friday and it was somewhat weird fishing. I ended up holding out for risers before I began to fish hard. I landed a few fish around 10am that came up for my midge adult pattern before the surface got busy at all, so that was nice. After that, I was getting most of the fish on midge emergers. From about 11am to 1pm it was pretty fast and furious, then after that, it kinda dropped off. I only ended up with a few fish during the Baetis hatch (which didn't last for very long) on a quill bodied BWO and a Barr emerger.

I had a slam, though, with a bunch of browns, a few rainbows, one cuttbow and two cutts. One cutt pushed 19 inches but fought like a wet sock.

We had to head back Friday night so we didn't get to hook up with most of you that evening at the lodge. I did get to meet a lot of you on the river, so it was nice to put faces to names. Mike, it was Herb and I that passed by you around 3pm and said hi. I wasn't sure if you remembered who I was. I had the blue UOTF hat with a big fly stuck in it.

We also saw a man and woman fishing with a dog (cardiac and Joni?) but didn't get a chance to say hello.

I'm also curious to know if anyone from this site was the guy lucky enough to take a swim around 10am around caddis wall (the bathrooms 1 1/2 miles up from LH). We see a guy taking all his clothes off and hanging them on the tree stumps to dry and assumed he had taken a swim. The wind was nice and chilly then. Hope everything dried out ok.

Wish we could have stayed longer, but that's how it goes. At least the Provo fished nicely on Saturday -- better hatch at least.
