Got my flies from Trout4x the other night. There are some fine patterns there.

Now here's the part where I back off T4x and his "rules". There are also some real nice tags some, OK tags, and some tags where all that is there is the tyers name. Them ones usually have flies where you can look at them and pretty much tell what with and how to tie it. The ones that don't give one pause to consider if the fly is a secret?

Not that there is anything wrong with that. But it does make it easier and nicer when all are tagged with a little more info.

Thanks, Bruce, for the ideas.

I'd have to agree. Some very nice patterns in this swap!! Thanks everyone, and thanks Trout4X for the great swap.

Since i have never participated in a swap, I don't know you mean Larry. How much info can you attach to a tag? Maybe I am confused what a tag is, I thought it was just a small piece of paper with the tyer's name and the pattern? From what you're saying, I should include the recipe on it too?

I guess I spoke too soon.

Some of the guys (gals) are sending their flies on a business card which includes the recipe along with their name, etc.
Others send in the recipe with instructions via e-mail to the swapmiester. Some do neither.

I've probably jumped the gun on the guys who were going to e-mail the info to T4x and for that I apologize. I don't mean to offend anyone.

The cards are easy and fun to do if you have a publishing program on your computer. I was able to pick up a couple packs of buisiness card sheets on clearance at Shopko a while back.

With the extensive list of rules, I was afraid of what would happen if I stepped out of line. :-) Death by Altoid Tin does not sound pleasant.

From the rules:
"First of all All flies must be tagged with your name and fly name!"

I guess I took that too literally. Plus, it was my first swap and I didn't know what was expected on the tags. I will redeem myself on the "Not for the Faint of Heart" swap.
