I would like to think this has occured to me before but since it is the tying season I will now switch form using typically black thread when tying streamers to a silver thread.
Except for the Black Nose Dace how many small fish have a black head.
It's tough getting through life when you're retarded.
Anyway, I guess I'm going to find out if the change is productive.

I don't see why it wouldn't work. I hope you post your results when you find out.

I was just watching a flytying video today that had Scott Sanchez in it from Dan Bailey's. He was demonstrating how to tie his Double Bunny and used a metallic silver thread to tie it. If the pros use it, it must work!(wink)
What's the name of the video?
Have you ever used that fly at Strawberry? I want to learn how to tie it.
I was fishing a lake up in northern Wyoming and a guy was just killing em on an olive double bunny. that's what he said. Is that just two olive rabbit strips, or do you ever tie them with two of the same color?

If I remember right the Double Bunny was so successful at the Jackson Hole One Fly that they quit using it. I think it was the winning fly 2 or 3 years in a row. I think they quit using it because it was considered a streamer or something like that, having a hard time recalling just why. It is a very successful fly throughout the West.
