I didn't buy this rod, I received it as a gift. The 390 XP is great for use on small stillwaters where the fish are smaller so I can still enjoy the fight of the fish. I've used the rod 3 or 4 times now on lakes and I really like it for stillwater.
I've also used the 390 on the Prove and for the small fish it was fine, but I did hook into a nice 18" Brown and the 390 was just not enough rod to get the fish in quickly and released quickly.
It casts like a dream (I use a 4 weight Cortland Clear Camo line for stillwater).
