Our next tying club meeting will be Thursday Dec 12th, 7pm at Western Rivers located at 9th S. 11th E. Our theme will be 'Fly Inventions.' Come share and tie some of your own fly creations that you tie and fish with. Pizza will be served. See you all then.
Post a reply if you plan to come. Thanks.

With bells on.
Is there any certain theme or are we just going to tie one on. :-)
Jason
I may come down that day and play if it's OK?
Wild...that whole sentence rhymed.

Well, the idea is to come share a few of your special fly patterns that you've created. These should be fly patterns that you've made up on your own and are not commercial replicas. If you don't have any it's no biggie. Just come hang out and tie a few flies anyway. I'm sure RAW would be a very welcome addition to our meeting next week because he's got some great fly creations he could share with us. Talk about some original and unique fly patterns. Hope to see you come RAW. Laters.
I for one will be tying a few of my new swimming mayfly nymphs that I've been working on. They're not thoroughly field tested but I'm sure these will be great flies. I hope to get a few suggestions or opinions from some of you.

I'll be there, though just as a sponge, still trying to get the basics down and expand beyond the two flies I now tie.

I'm going to try to come, observe and maybe tie a few. Don't have a lot of real originals, just variations of some standard ones that work for me. I'm not sure whether to join the SL or Utah County club since I'm stuck in the middle.

Unless I get shipped out of town, I should be there. I have been working a lot with deer hair lately, so I hope there is a vacuum cleaner there.

Thanks to everyone who came tonight. We had a great turnout. It was great to see a few new faces. I hope to see you again. For those that couldn't make it, Cheech put on a great show. He's got 'mad skills'. His bass flies rule. Everyone learned something new tonight and some great patterns were shared. Our next meeting will most likely be Jan 2nd or 9th. I'll post details as soon as we work out the scheduling.

I always learn a lot of great stuff, and last night was no exception. Thanks to everyone for putting up with all my questions.
Unfortunately, every time I attend one of those meetings, I have to go out and buy a bunch of new materials. Where does it end?

It was great to meet a few of those who post all the time. I can now put a face with the "crazy " names. I never fail to learn something new when a few tyers get together. Last night was no exception. Jason, that verigated thread is great. Something new to add to my supplies too. I look forward to January.

I only use that term when I talk about my basketball game. It was awesome tying and getting to know you guys. I'm sure we'll have some testimonials about the 14/0 thread too. It was cool seeing all of the cool patterns that came out. Walks has a SWEET little micro soft hackle, Dennis had some sweeet minnows, and Jason was mangling hooks, and then turning them into pretty cool swimming mayfly nymphs. etc. etc.

I enjoyed the short time that I was able to stay and I would have like to stay longer to see all the magic and to make introductions...but I didn't think anyone wanted to listen to a crying baby.
Maybe next time I will be able to stay and tie.
Thanks all.

Jason, thanks for showing me the half hitch hackle trick.

You may certaining bring your young lady to any meeting. We all can take turns playing with her while you tie flies.
She's a cutie!
No doubt takes after her mother cause you're a big ugly dog. :-)

Wow. Low blow by Ouzel. Maybe next time we can arrange to have a nursery setup in the back room and have Ouzel be in charge. Well, maybe we shouldn't.

I heard you didn't catch a thing today! Walks and I will be on the Lower Sun. about 10:30-11:00, probably up towards the upper reaches. Come by if you can and for a small fee I will interupt my fishing to teach you how to use that long stick you wave around. :-)
Stout is certaining BIG enough to take care of himself and I was kidding.
A nursery full would be a bit much for me, or any man, but I have been able to hold my own with as many as TWO. :-)
Again, if Tara lets you out the invitation to you and all is extended. I'd like to see that streamer again that Mike ties up.

Actually, I did manage to hook 3 rainbows. It was tough fishing and cold, but we all had a good time.
I've got things to do tomorrow but thanks for the offer. I probably won't get back to some water until after the new year. Have fun tomorrow.

...She does take after her mother. :) There is no fooling you Ozuel. ...very observant, which makes you the flyfisher that you are! :)
I'm rather perceptive also...hence I did recognized your humor and I enjoyed it.
Thanks! :) bow wow!
