Since there are a couple of Swaps going on and also for future ref. I thought I would share a great way to send flies through the postal system. I learned of this method recently when RAW sent me some nymphs.

Cut a piece off a cardboard box slightly smaller then the size of your mailing envelope. Gently slice open a flap of the outer layer exposing the inner ribbed layer. You now have a place to lay your flies (many). Close up, scotch tape the flap closed and insert in the envelope. Mail.

Dries can be mailed as well even if the hackles get a bit mangled, they will pop out with a little pulling.

This method is so simple and you don't need to be hunting around for a small shipping container.

Thanks again RAW, simply brilliant idea.

I ship flies in the tins containers for Altoids or Everest gum. You can also modify these tins to make a very inexpensive fly box.

Hey thanks for the tips. I'll have to try the card board method.

I've always done as Justin Q. and used altoids tins.

Once again, I must admit that the brilliant idea was someone elses and I just utilized it. The credit for the cardboard idea should go to Vlad Markov of Russia. We have exchanged a few patterns in the past. His flies came to me with the simple cardboard container and I have copied it. He has a site which may interest some of you called, Keeptying.com Some interesting patterns and ideas. Check it out.

Thanks for the credit anyway, Ouzel.
