Well I think we have done it!

The first monthly meeting of the tying club is set for Tuesday December 3rd at the Whittier Community Center in Logan. For those that don't know it is located at 290 North 400 East. Times will be 7-9pm.

The theme for the first meeting will be Midges. You can decide what you want to tie (dries, wets, etc.). I suspect much of the evening will be spent getting to know one another and talking about the future of the club.

All interested tiers are invited.

I guess you and I will be there and I'm assuming Bob as well. Hey FlyTy and Trout4x, are you guys going to be there? Anyone else planning on coming?
Let us know...

My best friend works in Al's (Howard) and I'm sure they'd be more than happy to post a message there to invite others...unless you only want 'utahonthefly'ers" there...i figure the more the people, the more knowledge you learn.

I'll be going in for some minor surgery Dec 2. I'll be down for a day or two so I'll catch you on the next one.

There is no backing out now.

Raw-

Sorry for you. I know you like field testing your new flies, but "Taste" testing? Hope to see you soon. :^)

Caddfly-

I'm not sure of the size of the room yet. Maybe we had better hold off till we see what we have(will know tomorrow).

As far as dues go how about everyone bring a pound of cheese? That way we can have some in reserve for the next cookout. ;o)

Hey Larry Thanks for organizing this. I'm going to try and be there.

Hey Trout4X -- How did your hunting go?

I will be there! I am looking forward to this.

He got us a room that I think we could even use to practice our casting. Seriously though it is a huge room. We may only be limited by the number of tables and chairs we can scrounge. Not only that but they told us there will be another tying class in the gym at the same time(or was that Tei Chei)? I can't even say it let alone spell it. Sounds like we can pick our poison on that night.

Caddfly-

I guess we could put some fliers or something down at Al's.

Mike-

Is there any problem with downloading the logo to put on fliers?

You're totally welcome to put the UtahOTF logo on your fliers Larry! Sounds like fun!

Yes it is. I was going to post a reminder but it looks like you already have.

The notice in the paper gave an incorrect address for the Whittier Center. The address at the top of the thread is correct.

I hope we have a good turnout. See you there.

I get my wisdom teeth out tomorrow so it doesn't look like i'm gonna be there. My bad.

That gives you a day to recover. You should be fine. Hope you can make it.

That's right.

I got mine out, went to a party that night and ate pizza (because I forgot I couldn't eat it, but I already pitched in so I had to rip it into small pieces and swallow it) Then I went skiing the next day.

You'll be fine ;)

Trout4X -- How did your hunt go. We saw three real nice bucks, but no elk. That's just the way it always seems to go.

Trout4x

100 Elk, 200 Deer 24 Moose & 1000 Whitefish. Elk managed to stay just out of range with the bow. If it would have been rifle I would have been done.

Trout4X -- Did I forget to mention that the bucks we saw were all 30 point bucks! Wow were they big.

Didn't you know you shouldn't be hunting from the wagon rides at Hardware Ranch.

Trout4x
12-02-2002, 05:35 AM
Not one elk on the ranch believe it or not.

Teewinot

Really?

Haven't they already started their tourist season stuff, wagon rides and all that?

Maybe you'll have a better chance then with the elk not quite moving into there yet. If you want to know where we saw all those elk during the deer season give me a call. There was a lot of sign and quite a few elk -- you could smell them all over.

Remember me while you're having all the fun. I'll be laying in bed with splints shoved up my nose OD'd on pain pills I'm sure. Maybe I'll sneak down to the tying room while I'm all doped up...you think my fly patterns are crazy now, wait till you see what I come up with in the next few days! Leaving for the doctor soon.

Jason

A nursery? LOL.

I was going to try and come up tomorrow but I've got stuff to do. Maybe next time. Have fun and post a report.

Like I said before, the room is BIG! I suppose you could rope off a section and put your little ones in it.

Trout4x

Bring the rope & the kids. You play and keep them entertained.
